Grade I Teacher Assistant

My name is Michael Vassiliev, I am a 33 year old Russian – Australian national who has returned to my hometown of Moscow after leaving with 1996 with my parents. During that time I had visited four continents, over 40 countries, became fluent in three languages (Russian, English and German) and have worked in Europe, Russia, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. All this would not be possible today if my parents had not started teaching me English from the age of four years old.  

Before teaching, I was a manager in the hotel industry and a sergeant in the army, where my work revolved mostly around education and training of new personnel as well as combining methodical materials.  Today, I have found joy and purpose in teaching English the next generation of little thinkers who will one day be leaders in our society. By teaching the future generations of tomorrow, I give back to all my past teachers and those who continue to teach me till this day.

Back in my childhood, there were no English kids clubs, kindergartens or schools. We were lucky to have dictionaries, children’s books and the more fortunate – VHS tapes of Disney cartoons. Today in modern Russia, we have the amazing opportunity to educate kids in professional facilities operated by native English speakers such as myself. It is my belief that the best we can do is equipping our children with skills and knowledge that will make them driven and motivated for success.  Teaching at 5GREEN has opened up a world of opportunities for me and a way to give back to communities of little future leaders of tomorrow.
